According to Google maps it's only 1377km (admittedly via Ho Chi Minh Highway) 20 hours 45 mins to Hanoi (and presumably using 4 wheels and a gasoline fuelled motor as opposed to 2 wheels and 2 legs and food for fuel) Lucky that highways are not nearly as much fun as you are having .... and their route seemed to miss Laos altogether. Hope you have got the breakfast/lunch food thing sorted - somehow dining on rice and sugar cane and peanuts doesn't seem quite as appealing as a hearty peanut butter slab. Enjoyed your cycle log. Sure is a lot of peddling you're doing ...... and a lot of experiences you're having. I am officially unemployed from tomorrow. Have a VERY long "to do" list and that doesn't even include following blogs. Thinking of you
